My go-to skincare products

I’m quite lucky in terms of my skin. I’ve never suffered from acne or terrible dry patches. My skin is relatively kind to me. Now I can’t lie, I certainly don’t have a religious skincare regime that I stick to every day without fail, I wish I had the motivation to be that kind of girl but without sounding like I’m bragging, my skin tends to look after itself! I would say I have dry to normal skin and often I’ll try not to wear foundation because I’m quite freckly and many people compliment my complexion!

Usually before I come on my period, I have a breakout where I’ll get 3 or 4 nasty spots scattered over my face and they usually scab over and look like chicken pox! I’m terrible for picking at them to try and get rid of them quicker and I’ve learnt my lesson because I’ve got a few scars on my face from that.

Recently, I’ve found a small selection of products that make my skin feel and smell heavenly so I thought I’d write a little post to share these products with you!

Skinkissed Serum

This is the most recent product I’ve discovered. I was so pleased when Skinkissed got in touch and asked if I wanted to review their Vitamin C serum. I have never used serum on my face so I was interested to see how my skin would react. I’ve been using it for a week now and I can already see a difference! I have been using this product twice a day, applying 3 drops each time. The serum makes my skin glow naturally and although I’ve had a couple of spots this week, my skin has looked so healthy!

The benefits of the Skinkissed serum are endless! It can remove acne scars, hydrate dry and dead skin, improve wrinkles and fine lines, repair smooth and sensitive skin and it generally boosts your radiance!

I apply this before doing my make up in the morning and then just before I go to sleep and as soon as you apply it, it instantly makes your skin feel soft and hydrated. It makes for a wonderful primer!

Garnier Naturals Rose Water Toner

I’ve actually ditched make up remover and have been using this instead. It smells heavenly and makes my skin feel so fresh. As well as removing make up residue, it tones your skin and leaves it feeling perfectly smooth! It’s made with 96% natural origin ingredients and is dermatologically tested.

I’ve used the Garnier micellar water before but it irritated my skin. This product soothes it, especially under my eyes where I have dry skin! I use this every evening when taking my make up off and sometimes I use it in the morning after I wash my face if my skin feels a bit dull.

While we’re on the subject of Garnier, their moisture bomb sheet masks are also incredible and I can highly recommend them if you’ve had a break out!

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pore & Shine Daily Scrub

I have tried a LOT of daily scrubs and this is by far the best one I’ve ever used. It smells so fruity and as soon as you scrub it into your face, you feel a refreshing stinging sensation that makes it clear it’s working.

This product has a hardworking formula that reduces the appearance of enlarged pores and eliminates unwanted shine.

This daily scrub is recommended for people who are prone to acne but it’s the only one I’ve found for my skin that feels like it’s deep cleansing. Plus, the tangerine and lime fragrance won me over! It smells delightful when you’re scrubbing it into your face.

When using this, I wet my face and rub the product into my palms before scrubbing it into my face in circular motions. I then rinse it off with freezing cold water and my skin feels totally refreshed.

No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream

This is the first moisturiser I ever owned. My Mum bought it for me along with the night cream for my birthday a few years ago and since then, I’ve used so many moisturisers but always find myself coming back to this one!

I have the day cream and the night cream and use it every single day. This product provides tailored skin nutrition for healthy looking, bright and beautiful skin.

The day cream in particular really locks in moisture and really hydrates my skin! If I don’t use it for a couple of days, I can tell because my skin doesn’t feel as fresh.

Boots ALWAYS have No7 vouchers on so you can usually get these creams for a good price!

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

I actually can’t recommend this product enough. I tell anyone who will listen about this drying lotion! I saw a few beauty vloggers talking about the Mario Badescu drying lotion in their monthly favourite videos and I bought into the hype. Well, my sister bought me it for my birthday and now I’ll never go back!

This product is incredible for stubborn spots! On multiple occasions, I’ve put this on my spots and they’ve disappeared overnight! Granted, it BURNS when you apply it to fresh spots but it’s so worth it.

It’s a spot treatment with Calamine and Salicylic Acid. The best thing is, it’s suitable for all skin types – even if your skin is sensitive! It gives you instant relief when you apply it to blemishes and this is an absolute must-have.

I don’t know if it’s just me but since using this, my breakouts haven’t been half as bad as they were before so I’m adamant this product not only reduces blemishes but also prevents them! It’s so worth splashing out a bit of extra cash for this product if you’re prone to spots.

So, there you have it! Those are my go-to products! I also swear by the 1000 Millihelens jelly mask by Lush as well as their BB Seaweed mask. And if you want a foundation that doesn’t make your skin feel cakey and clogged up, I use Fenty Beauty or No7 and can highly recommend them both!

The moisture bomb sheet masks are incredible. I’ve recently been using the tea tree toner from Lush which I love. My skin has been so bad in the past few months though.
